Entry #1
Emond is a captain of a ship now, and can buy his dad a house (who apparently was not doing so well, living of 60 francs out of the 200 Emond left him). It also appears that Emond can marry Mercedes, his girlfriend. It's good to be captain.

It does sound like a good job. I'd love to have enough to buy somebody a house right when I get a job.
He loves his Father more than the money, he doesn't even think of it twice, just does it.
